For the most part things are getting better, although there is still an occasional rough day where my nose is on high alert and even the smell of potato chips gives me a case of nausea. I have discovered some new things (or old things I haven't had in a while) that I love. First Jay, one of my distant relatives gave me a recipe for apple dumplings. Add a little french vanilla ice cream on the side and YUM! I also made enchiladas a few days ago with home-made enchilada sauce. I was really scared that they wouldn't turn out but they did and they tasted great minus the heart burn. I don't know why but anytime I go to Costco or someplace like that the picture of the iced mocha looks amazing. Since I don't drink coffee I've improvised...chocolate milk over ice with whip cream on top. My husband thinks its gross cause it makes the milk all watery but I usually drink it fast enough that it doesn't really melt. If any of you have ever had safeway's baked potato soup from the deli, you might understand why it's something I crave. Each time I go in there I want to get some but the price is a bit steep for a little container so I started searching online and am trying this recipe. I hope it turns out good.
Besides food we have spent the last week working in the yard. The first day I got brave and pulled out the hedge trimmer. Our 'box' bushes are looking a little more boxy now. I cleared out the little flower bed under our front tree and transplanted some tulips and daffodils. A few, okay most are looking kinda droopy at this point but I figure they will come back next year once they've had a chance to root themselves. Alex helped me rip out the ugly bush by the front door and guess what we found...a sewer vent pipe...now we know why there was an ugly bush there. We are going to start looking for a plant that isn't so ugly/dead looking all the time to replace it since it looks weird to have a black pipe sticking up by our front door. I still have to finish ripping out all the weeds and the other ugly bush from in front of the other window and maybe finding something less purple for my flower bed. Alex was finally able to trim down the grass around the front yard with our steal of a deal weed-eater. Our front yard is starting to look less junglish and more like a yard again which we are happy about. Due to the weather, we haven't gotten much done on the back yard. Alex did take the weed-eater to the back and so the grass isn't quite as tall. I wish it would stop raining long enough to get the garden in and then it can start again and save us money not having to water everything.
I don't have my 12 week pictures. We need to charge camera batteries and then I'll post them. (If I don't someone remind me) I don't know if I look like I'm growing to any one else but I sure feel like it. My skin has become itchy across my stomach as it stretches and I'm getting more and more restless at night.
Baby is about two inches long and the size of a plum (: one of my favorite fruit :) and weighing around .5 ounces. Baby is finally starting to look more like a, well, baby and less like an alien. While his/her head is still around 1/3 of the length facial features are really starting to look human like. The eyes have moved around to the front of his/her head and the ears are in place on the sides. Alex and I are so excited to have this little bundle of joy in our lives. Three months have flown fast, another six and we'll have a beautiful baby in our arms.
