Soooooo busy....

So I've tried and tried time and time again to keep up on this blog thing; but as many of you can see, I've failed. It has been over a month and a half since I've written anything. I start a post and have to keep editing it each time I get on, this time I'm just going to start fresh and finish it.

Here are my 30 week pictures. I'm really behind on getting pictures and I feel/look bigger now. Maybe we'll get 35 week pictures this next week.

Our adventure of reorganization started about two months ago when we decided to add on or rather in to our home. As many of you know Alex has a home based computer business which has been open for about eight or nine months. Our biggest challenge started with a customer who decided to stand on our front door step knocking and ringing our door bell at 9:30 in the evening. Not only is that after hours on a normal day but we're closed on Sunday. We also didn't like the fact that people had to come into our home and take off their shoes to get to his office, just wasn't great for business. We decided to knock out part of our garage wall and put in a door, then we added a new room which takes up about half our garage. Below are some pictures of his new office!

I was able to help him with some things but I also spent time working on our garden. Shortly after getting the tomato plants in the ground we had a weed that took over everything.

Desperately I worked to get them out of there and it was pretty easy when they were only about six inches tall but they grew fast and really rooted themselves into the ground making them hard to pull. Our squash and zucchini plants came in big and bushy and gave us hope.

(huge zucchini that we didn't see till it got really big)

We have gotten a LOT of zucchini off our three plants but we've gotten a lot of rain and unfortunately it caused the roots of our tomato plants to rot and spread across all the plants quickly. We have gotten a handful of cherry tomatoes but that is about it as far as it goes with the tomato plants. It's been kind of a depressing year, especially after all the hard work we've put into it. This next week Alex is going to take our weedeater out and cut down all the weeds and tomato plants. We plan to leave the squash, zucchini, peas, and beans up for a couple more weeks and see if we can get more off of them.

Our latest and greatest project has been our son's room. The closet had no rods to hang clothes on or shelves to organize other things. My mother had given me a gift certificate good for one shopping trip for Luke. We went to Ikea, picked out a cabinet and things to build his closet system with...when we got home that night, Alex started putting everything together. We realized that after saying we only wanted the smaller shelves we ended up getting the deeper one....that was after we got it half way together. A few days later we had to meet my mom back at Ikea and exchange some stuff so the shelves fit. We then went to home depot and bought the right kind of rods that we needed. I'm happy to say his closet is put together, although it is not completely organized.

Please excuse the not so organized closet. I'm getting the rest of my stuff out of there tomorrow (I hope) and getting his dresser in there so we can actually organize and not have everything stuffed onto a shelf!

Yesterday Alex and I went shopping. We go here and there but it's rare that we get enough to fill the freezers at once. Thanks to one of his friend's sisters I'm learning to coupon/bargain shop even more than before. We got some amazing deals on, well, almost everything. Just to show you here is one of the cuts of meat...

This is over 4lbs of round top roast and we paid only $8.90 for it. A package like this cost between $20 to $40 at Costco right now which is why we don't get it very often. We got many great deals like this and our freezer is full.

We have been married for just under a year now and even though that day 10 months ago seemed so hard when he came home with no job, we have been blessed in abundance. Our trials have made us stronger as a couple. I could not have asked for better because while money is a necessity, it is not happiness. Happiness and love are something we have money or no money!
