Boys will be boys

A couple weeks ago we went over to Alex's parents to celebrate his birthday with dinner and cake.  Alex's mom had found this cute little truck that Luke 'helped' assemble.   It's a lot like the old cars except that now you have a floorboard that you can put in until their feet can reach the ground.

He wasn't real happy at first, in fact, he was flat out upset when we would stick him in it.  I think he thought it was another way to pin him up, but once he got the hint that it was a 'toy' he didn't mind playing with it.  This summer we might just have to have a tail gait party on the back of his little truck!

Last Saturday we went up to a local farm and picked up a trailer worth of horse manure.  While we were there it rained, snowed, and I think there was even some hail mixed in.  When we got home we decided to put everything inside until Monday when it was going to be dry and sunny.

Since we didn't get a garden in last summer our back yard just grew and grew, or at least our garden area did.  We had weeds that were taller than me by October.  When we got snow in January it weighed it down and now it just looks like a bunch of straw type stuff laying over the garden.

I was hoping that Luke would sleep long enough for us to get the manure moved on Monday but he decided to wake up, just as we were getting ready to go out...imagine that.  I got him dressed in some warm cloths and equipped him with one of our small garden trowels.  He was determined to help and he walked from back to front and front to back following us back and forth.

Can anyone say 100% Boy?  Yes thats manure in the buckets, and yes he had to help "coop" it.  I have a feeling gardening this summer could be interesting.

Here he is bringing daddy the sprayer for the hose, this was also right before he took his third spill.  His first he managed to land on his hands, his second he hit his hands and then rolled onto his forehead.  This time, he hit and rolled again and it wasn't pretty.

Here is a picture of his poor little face.  He's got a couple good sized goose eggs on his forehead and a scraped up nose.  We gave him a bit of baby advil and he seemed to relax.  I'm sure he had a headache after biffing it on the concrete or rocks multiple times.

He also really likes pork and beans, can you tell?  I'm not sure if more went to his mouth or his hair.

Last but not least is he's learning to dress himself.  He has figured out how to pull his pants up, except in the back.  I have to say, it's kind of cute though!
