One of our favorite activities to do was making her garlic cheesy potatoes for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I would peel and wash the potatoes and she would sit at the table cutting them into small cubes. While the potatoes were on the stove boiling we would pull out all the "fixings" for sandwiches and have ourselves lunch while laughing and talking about different events in our life. After lunch we'd clean up all our dishes and start mixing up the potatoes.
We also loved going to Winco over in Longview to go grocery shopping. After shopping we would go out for lunch at Sizzler or Red Lobster. I think one of Aunt Mae's favorite things to do was just putt around the store seeing what she could find.
I find that we have lost a family member from this earth is not such a bad thing. Ethelmae Jordan just celebrated her 71's birthday in September, attended our wedding, visited her cousing in California, and was able to see my newest cousin. She has been suffering from kidney failure and has been on dialysis for a while now. Many times she told the family that she was ready to let go and yet she miserably held on through so many ugly surgeries that took from her the ability to move her hand and other things. To my Aunt Mae...
Know that even though you are not with us anymore, you will never be forgotten. You were loved by so many and I can't wait to see you again.
