Baby On Board

Now that the cat is out of the bag I guess I can post it on my blog. Alex and I are expecting somewhere around the beginning of November. We are both extremely excited for this new little addition to our family.

On to how we told our parents...

So Alex and I spent the last week cleaning our house to the utmost clean that it could possibly be. Alex brazed the meat while I mixed up crape batter and got breakfast going. He got the meat in the crock pot and dinner was started. We ate breakfast and got everything cleaned and vacuumed. I prepped the veggie trays with "baby" sized foods (i.e. baby carrots, baby corn, etc.) while Alex made the pie crust on the "baby" sized pies. Eventually we added baby carrots and mini potatoes along with pearl onions to the crock pot. Our parents all arrived around 5:45. While everyone was out in the living room talking I ran into the kitchen and pulled out the silverware; I had taken each set and wrapped it up in a napkin and used a Binky as a napkin ring. I also had made them each a bib that said "I ♥ my grandma" & "I ♥ my grandpa" which I put on top of their plates. My mom walked into the kitchen and said "Are we supposed to wear these?" a few different times followed by the "what are they for?" It took everyone a minute but they finally figure it out. They were all in a little or maybe a lot of shock. Some had put it together a little but not really.

It was funny in the end cause no one got the "baby" sized food theme till my mom was like "baby sized pumpkin pie". Alex and I got a good laugh about the whole thing and really enjoyed having our family over for this special event. We are due around November 2nd and can not wait to meet this precious child!

(Sorry I don't have any pictures, I totally forgot to take them, we will get some soon though)
