The view from our balconyMonday we met up with Crystal and Josh on their way out of town. After they headed out we walked up and down Broadway and made it back just in time for the storm to hit. I think most of the day we sat around doing, well, not much, just relaxing and taking a break from the stresses of life. It was too nasty to get out and do much due to the nasty storm that had rolled in, in fact the BBQ grill wouldn't even stay lit so we ended up cooking the ribs inside.
Tuesday morning I was all excited...I got to see my Trish, oh and I'm 13 weeks along :) Okay so for those who don't know, Trish is like a sister to me. I love her but due to school and other things we haven't seen each other since March...of 2009 :( When I text her she said she wasn't feeling real great so we brought her a can of sprite. We went out and attempted to fly kites but my kite string got extremely tangled and we spent 45 minutes just trying to get it undone. After only getting part of it undone and another black cloud rolling in we decided to pack everything up. We took the back roads back to the resort since the wind had picked up out by the boardwalk. I called mom and she put the bratts on the stove to boil, Alex heated up the grill and went out to put them on the grill just as this nice big black cloud rolled in, thank goodness for the balcony above us. We sat around eating lunch and chatting. Trish kinda fell in love with some of my mom's red beads when we were talking about her dress that she was going to wear to the temple and at her luncheon. She said she was looking for some inexpensive jewelry to go with it but hadn't been able to find any. After lunch I drove her home so she could finish up working on stuff. I came back, mom, dad, and the boys had gone to the pool...Alex and fallen asleep on the bed and I was sore and stiff so rather than waking him up, I went out and laid down on the couch and was watching the waves out the window. Since a huge storm rolled in I could no longer see the water and after that point I don't remember what happened. Alex came out about an hour later and woke me up, I was totally oblivious to everything. After everyone got back from the pool we got dinner started. Mom and I finally got a hold of Casey Pappas and she gave us the color of Trish's dress. We started messing around with different beads and came up with a design that we liked. I text Trish and Casey a picture and they both liked it so we finished it up. After eating dinner mom and I ran to the store and got some super glue to hold a couple of the beads in place. We took it over to her house and she fell in love with it, she showed us her dress and her and I have matching temple dresses!
Today we got up and packed up after eating and getting dressed. We decided before heading home we'd go up to Cape Disappointment since when we went up there on our honeymoon it was closed off so the US Coast Guard could play...I mean train :) Anyways we got to hike up to the light house. Just under half way up there is this beautiful cove that the waves come crashing back into.

You really can't get down to it unless you go way down a steep hill (and you're not supposed to). My pants were covered in mud by the time we got up there and my heart was racing so we slowed down as we approached the last climb up to the lighthouse. The view was amazing.
This was off to the left side right before you get up to the light house on a little side trail.
Off to the right side of the lighthouse.
Cape Disappointment Light House
This was an old building we stopped in on the way back long enough to let the storm pass so we didn't get soaked.
This is a Norwegian cruise ship that had stopped in Astoria. I wish I could have gotten a better picture. The front of the boat has huge ribbons and bubbles painted on the front. All of the Norwegian Cruise Liners have a different design on the front.Anyways it was nice to just kick back and relax for a few days...baby is sure growing. Now that I'm 13 weeks along baby has really started moving and if I push on baby when he/she does, baby starts wiggling more. He/She is around three inches long and weighs about 20oz.

Baby can now suck it's thumb and it's vocal cords are almost done forming. Itsy Bitsy ribs are starting to form. I can't wait till Alex can feel the baby move but that will probably be a few more weeks. Anyways it's been a long day and I'm getting tired. Hope everyone is doing well!
