I love the April 2010 Relief Society Message about how we can receive personal revelation through faith in our Heavenly Father. I love how in the message they talk about how Joseph Smith was searching for which church he should join and while reading in the Bible he came upon James 1:5-6...
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea, driven with the wind and tossed.
Joseph asked in faith and had a vision.
We have been lucky to have Alex's computer business...on the months that we should come up short he ends up getting just enough business to pay for our needs. Its taken a LOT of faith and prayers but I know for a fact that Heavenly Father has been watching over us. I had been praying for something to come along to help us out each month and felt like no matter how many places I applied I was just a sitting duck going no where. A week and a half ago I put in for a care position on care.com, a website to match caretakers up with people who need a provider. I got a call back and was asked to come over for an interview. This last Thursday I got another call from the same people asking if I would come back. I got the job, part time, low stress, local, and best I get to do what I love best...play with and teach little children, well a child. This little girl is such a sweet heart and is a lot like me at that age. She is extremely smart and independent, she loves to learn and play with play dough. For being as young as she is she is responsible.
A few years back I had got a book called "When Your Prayers Seem Unanswered" by S. Michael Wilcox while at a Christmas party. It is one of the best books I'd read. It talked about how Heavenly Father doesn't always come right away, yes, sometimes he leaves us hanging on a limb for a little while, not because he doesn't love us, but because we were sent here to learn...right? Well I guarantee that I would learn squat if he just jumped in every time I needed something. Heavenly Father has had a watchful eye over us, providing us with just what we need to make it by. We have come closer together as a couple through this experience and I couldn't be more grateful.
