Lets take a step back in time and look at some older pictures.
Luke thought it was pretty cool to get to sit in Daddy's truck while daddy was vacuuming and cleaning it out.
This was shortly after he figure out how to sit up one his own. I love the look on his face..."huh mom?"
Sorry I didn't get anything posted last month, as you can see we were surrounded by tulips and quite busy. We spent every weekend out at the Holland America Bulb Farms in Woodland. I don't normally like to do things on Sunday but there was no way around it this year. The picture above was taken by Alex of Lukas in the show field and was right after he turned six months old. At this show we featured our newest project...garden stakes made with resin which we pour into molds and silverware. It was a fun event and we sold a decent amount. We also had microwavable heat packs made with corn. Corn stays warmer longer than rice or barley so they are great during those cold months. Alex came up with the idea to do pocket packs out of the smaller scraps. They're great, no more going out and spending money on those little hot packs that you have to throw away after one use. He seems to be quite the happy little guy most of the time. We're still working on the fact that he can play by himself but he's getting there. There have been a couple days where he's been getting to the stage where he whimpers because he's in need of a nap but he's not quite ready to go down so I've stuck him in his bed with a few of his toys and let him play. With in 15 minutes he's laid down and fallen asleep and I can go in and cover him up.
Alex has been keeping busy with the business. We've had a business that has recently moved up from California and they were in need of some major help. The guy they had assigned to do all the IT work was not really a tech and so they called in Alex. There were multiple different days where he was gone for hours on end working on getting things set up for them.
I have been busy at home with Luke and with getting stuff ready for summer markets and events that we'd like to travel to. We are in the middle of making more garden stakes, heat packs, and our newest project that we'll start to sell in June...our cool neck wraps. As you can see below I have been sewing a LOT. There are around 40 or 50 in that stack, I don't remember off the top of my head. I can't wait till all of this is done and I'm hoping we do well through out the summer.
Our last eventful moment was my hair catastrophe...I have been cutting/trimming my hair for a few years now. Only on occasion will I go in to have it professionally done and since it had only been six months I figured I'd do it my self. First I chopped off about 5 inches and my head felt so much lighter. Then I started in with the thinning scissors. I was going to thin it out so it wasn't so thick and hot for summer. Little did I know I'd picked up the wrong pair and off when another four or five inches off the left side of my head. I was sitting there trying to figure out what to do with it and was scared when Alex walked in. I was scared to show him exactly what I'd done. He looked at me and knowing that he was not going to do it said "lets go over and see what they can do". So I threw it back in clips and a pony tail and off we went. The lady at Supercuts was wonderful. Her and I worked around trimming, layering and thinning till it looked okay. Needless to say, I now have half the hair I did when I woke up yesterday and I got a whole new hair-do that is slowly growing on me.
