So the last week has had it's ups and downs, luckily I have a great husband who has been more than patient with me. I swear my life has turned into an emotional roller coaster. About a week ago, our son decided to move into a new position...right on top of my bladder or rather the urinary tract. Never before in my life had I had such a hard time going to the bathroom, nor had it been so painful (Sorry if that's too much info, but its life). Since the time we found out I was pregnant I hadn't let Alex touch my feet for fear of sending me into labor too soon. Yesterday he was trying to find ways to help me relax and knowing that I'd been having contractions on and off I let him massage my feet, I mean, I am almost 37 weeks along. Well he got me to relax enough that Luke moved...hallelujah! Because he'd been sitting there for a week I'd been taking cranberry tablets to prevent a urinary tract infections, well in the end I didn't escape the fate of catching one.
I've been having contractions on and off since last Thursday, this morning they got stronger and would range from 5 to 30 minutes apart. If I'm standing or sitting they don't seem to be as strong but if I lay down they can be pretty intense. We called my midwife to ask her what we should do since I was leaking...something . She said to have Alex come in and get the stuff for the infection and the PH paper to check and see if it was really amniotic fluid. We both ended up going down to the office. When we got there she ended up checking me to see if I had dilated any farther. At first she said no, then she asked what I was last week. I have went 1cm to 3cm but my water has not ruptured. While checking me I had a contraction and she said that she thinks he would be here in the next 12 to 24 hours. Everything is set up and ready to go, we just have to fill the pool with water as I get more into the active labor. I am very excited to be able to hold him in my arms and no longer be kicked in the ribs. I'm sure he too will be grateful to no longer be squished into such a tiny space.
