They got me into a labor a delivery room, ran an ultrasound to make sure he was indeed breach and whisked me off to the operating room after I told them I did NOT want to have a c-section. They were really pushing for it but I fought against it...I wanted to have this baby vaginally and I didn't want any meds. They also put my husband in a different room and weren't going to let him be in there with me till I said that I wouldn't make any decisions with out him there. By the time they got him suited up and in the room with me I couldn't help but push leaving the staff with no other option. One of the nurses kept telling me they needed to give me pitocin...I told him no, I didn't need it, I was already having contractions. After about an hour of pushing and his head getting slightly stuck, I delivered our son into the world butt first...and not breathing. They whisked him away fast enough that I didn't know he wasn't by me. I looked over and realized there were five nurses surrounding him. I hadn't heard a peep from him and I about lost it. Just then I could hear this gasp for air and they stepped out of the way so I could see him. His hands and feet had no color to them but he was moving and crying. After we got everything cleaned up they moved me off the operating table and back onto my L&D bed. They brought Luke over and handed him to me. It was all I could do to fight back the tears and pray to my Heavenly Father because I couldn't been more grateful to be holding my sweet little baby boy in my arms.
