The last week we have spent on the move...all three of us. Since Dark Tiger Technology is a family business we ALL go to the chamber of commerce meetings along with any business network meetings we can. Luke is pretty good at the chamber meeting but he occasionally has his moments. The networking meetings that we went to this last week are a different story, they start at 7:30am which means we have to be up super early to get ready and be there on time. Both Tuesday and Thursday came VERY early. Monday was a holiday for most places so it didn't come as early but Wednesday and Friday came somewhat early as we had to be at the Chiropractors office at 10:30.
Friday I let Alex sleep in and I pulled Luke out in to the living room while I cooked breakfast. He normally sits on the floor and squawks when he wants something that's out of his reach. Like always I said to him "well go get it". This normally is followed by a dirty look and more fit throwing, but this time I had to check on him, he was quiet...too quiet. When I walked out into the living room I found him about three feet from where I left him. I figured he'd done his little butt wiggle/scoot over to this huge pink cat that Alex won at a carnival (or something like that years ago).
He seemed quite proud of himself until I walked back into the kitchen. After a few minutes of fussing I look over and there he is, on hands and knees coming to see me in the kitchen. I was in total shock, he had crawled another four to five feet. Since Friday he has not stopped. At times it's a pain because he gets into anything paper, oh and he LOVES news paper. He has figured out how to reach inside of one of the plastic bags and grab it if we're not paying attention.
Something new, something yellow? That's right, Luke has found a new food that he loves to eat.
I didn't know until recently that babies could dairy before a year. I couldn't figure out why there were things like yogurt and mac & cheese in the baby food section. I went into an appointment and apparently between six and eight months they can start having things like cheese and yogurt, just NO MILK. We now have a happy little boy as he is eating big people food and I'm not talking the stuff out of the jars, I'm talking like small pieces of cheese, ham and macaroni. He can pick things up but he has trouble getting them into his mouth. He has also tried scrambled egg yolks, biscuits, and bacon crumbs :)
Yesterday we went up to Woodland for the Walk For Life.
It was a great event and many people showed up. It wasn't sponsored by our church but another one that also believes that life is precious and that from the time of conception we are all human beings. They were giving away little lapel pins that were the shape/size of a baby's feet ten weeks after conception. I had to look at Luke and back at these things a few different times. I couldn't believe that he was ever that tiny. Since we were one of the sponsors we didn't walk we just stayed back at the start/end points and helped with the snacks as people came and went. After everyone had left to walk the two miles around the lake Alex, Luke and I went over to the playground. Alex put Luke on the slide and he was so cute as he went down.
He also loved the swing. Alex would push him and he would giggle until the wind would blow and then he would hold his breath.
There was another little girl that was swinging next to him and she would make cooing sounds. Luke would giggle till she stopped, she'd look over at him and start cooing again and then he would start laughing all over again. He loved swinging, even to the point of passing out in mid air. I wish I'd gotten a picture of him with his head hung down as he went back and forth. We had to stop because his little fingers started turning purple.
The lake was absolutely beautiful...well the park around it was, the lake was looking a little green but it didn't seem to phase people because they were out swimming in it.
